The 2017 Shave Nook LE Pen is here!
This "bolt action" pen caught the attention of a few members and after purchasing one for himself, Phil decided it would make a great LE Pen for the forum. Is it ever!
The pen was designed and manufactured by Tactile Turn of Richardson, TX. The body is machined out of brass and the bolt out of Zirconium. The pen weighs in at a hefty 58g and will develop a patina as it ages. Each pen is engraved with 2017 TSN LE and a sequential number (1/50 to 50/50).
This pen is sure to become one of your treasured possessions. Grab one while you can.

Mine arrived today, two days after it was shipped. I've used it this afternoon to get a feel for it.
The pen comes in a utilitarian, soft plastic box. This is a fine, working instrument. No need to pay for a "presentation" box or fancy packaging.

Here is the pen right out of the box.

A close up of the Zirconium bolt and the very thick, sturdy stainless clip. The bolt operates quite smoothly, and makes a cool sound when it snaps back to retract the point.

There is some weight to the pen, which is expected given that it's made of brass. However, the weight is not excessive and is evenly distributed, so that the pen can be used all day without fatigue or discomfort.

To change the ink, you simply unscrew the bottom part of the pen.

The pen is 5" long, which makes it comfortable for the whole range of hand sizes.

This pen is a beautifully machined writing tool, built entirely out of brass, stainless steel (the clip), and Zirconium (the bolt). It uses the Schmidt 9000 refills, which are widely considered the best. It's simultaneously elegant and practical, and will provide a lifetime of use. I'm delighted with mine and pleased that TSN and BullGoose were able to put this LE together.

I did forget to ask if I was also getting another red pen.
I hope you get the number you're looking for. I received the blue LED light pen this time. I have a number of the red LDE light pens, so this blue one enhances the collection!

No. 26, correct. Yes, it went out this afternoon. I did not include a BGS pen but did include a sample of Trumper cologne.
Many thanks for the order.

Thanks for the #26. GFT products are a favorite.
Did you ever think your free pens would dominate (including some with pictures) several posts ??

There is something I want to add regarding the quality of the machining on this pen. It has a two-piece body.
![[Image: 584kyRp.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/584kyRp.jpg)
The machining on this pen is so precise that, depending on the light and angle, it can be virtually impossible to see the seam between the two parts.
![[Image: lEtxSFa.jpg]](http://i.imgur.com/lEtxSFa.jpg)
When I first got the pen, I thought it was a one-piece body and unsuccessfully tried to unscrew the top cap, which does have a seam. I ultimately figured out it was a two-part body, but it was by playing around with the pen and not because I saw the seam. I subsequently learned from one of Will's videos that the top cap and bolt are threaded, but secured with Loctite.
