We hear "famous" quotes all the time. Ironically some of the most widely known, never happened.

Ingrid Bergman (Ilsa) in Casablanca       "Play it again Sam" was never said, the actual line is "Play it Sam...play As Time Goes By"

William Shatner (Capt. Kirk) in the Star Trek series     "Beam me up Scottie" was never said, the actual lines were many variations on "Two to beam up", etc.

I'd love to see whatever additions the group can add.

Have fun.

It was never said. This was in my draft section. This is a picture of the most vicious bull for some year. He was given the name of BODACIOUS.

Either you're an old guy, or a younger one who likes the oldies. A lot of people might have to google that to figure out who it was.

Mine may be as obscure ......... Jimmy Cagney never said, "You dirty rat."

Funny you bring up up Jimmy Cagney. I met him when I was about 11 and rode horses on his ranch. My favorite movie of his is The Maltese Falcon with he and Peter Lorre. I haven't thought of him in over 50 years, makes me ... young!

Senator Al Gore never said, “I invented the Internet.”

The Church of Scotland, which bequeathed to us the foundational text of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, did not have anywhere in the ceremony the words, “I do.”  (“I do” was a fiction created by Hollywood screenwriters, who were ignorant that the question posed to the man and to the woman who were being married began, “Will you take . . .”

Maybe pedantic, but "Houston we have a problem" was actually "Houston we've had a problem".

P.T. Barnum did not say, "There's a sucker born every minute"; however, it is attributed to him.
