Erik, what brush is that?

I won it on a raffle from Dogwood handcrafts (Stephen Joiner).  24mm Maggard's synth knot in a burl/resin handle.

Thanks Erik.  That burl/resin material is very nice.

I just returned home to the states from a trip to Germany last week.  I wanted to pick up something shaving related and regional.  So Saturday, walking around Frankfurt, I bought a bottle of Maurer & Wirtz Echt Kölnisch Wasser No. 4711 Original Eau de Cologne to add to the den along with some goodies for the family.  4711 is a great bright and classic fragrance that I thoroughly enjoy.  My daughter is 11 and really appreciated the miniature fragrance sampler I bought for "daddy's big girl".  Home runs all round!

While out of town, I saw that Charcoal Goods restocked their limited release Tritium Brass Bishop Handle.  I picked up the dark antique finish.  The handle is 3.5in long  and is claimed to weigh about 52g.  It was waiting for me when I returned home yesterday.  It came packaged beautifully with some Personna blades and looks great.  The only down side is that they did not have any heads for sale.  I wish they would have put first time buyers on a wait list since, without a head, the handle is kind of just waiting.  Oh well.  I also expected something darker based on the photos on the site, but that's fine because it still looks great.  I am now on a wait mission for a head - and so is half the shaving community.  I will just keep watching!

Thanks to the thoughtfulness of a TSN Member, I'm expecting the arrival of my dream brush. This unused Butterscotch Paladin Chief 26 mm will  find a new home in my Shave Den next week. To admit that I can't wait to try it out, would be an understatement of the highest magnitude. Did I mention that I'm really excited....[Image: gDoG9yF.jpg]

Wow!  That's a beautiful Chief Ron.  The handle needs no comment, and the knot is one of the nicest Paladin Select bulbs I've seen.

Ricardo,
Thank you for the positive comments. As a total newcomer to the world of brushes, your opinion means a lot to me.
The TSN Community is awesome. Acquiring this brush is solely the result of the thoughtfulness of a TSN Member. He remembered something I had posted awhile ago and reached out to me when he considered selling this brush. We have threads for the appreciation of various brushes and razors and software products. I was thinking earlier today that perhaps I should start a "Shave Nook Appreciation" thread where the benefits of being a member of this community can be shared. For example, I can now do a SOTD that is 100% TSN related; several items were an outright gift from members, one is a PIF that I won, some are samples that were sent by members for me to "try before you buy", and of course my new purchase. What are your thoughts?
Ron

Nice looking brushes Billy!
Thanks, Phil. Always fun to work with brush artisans that can transform ideas to the lathe!

TSN is indeed an awesome community, and many acts of generosity are unrecognized because they remain private between the parties.  A TSN Appreciation thread is appropriate, and will promote a sense of community in the forum.  My only concern is that some members may prefer for their generosity to remain confidential.  Anyone recognizing someone else in that thread should maintain the anonymity of that other person, or obtain that other person's consent prior to identifying them.

If managed responsibly, as my colleague mentions, I think this kind of thread would very much be positive.
