The blade on the left is either counterfeit or a bad manufacturing run. I tried a tuck of the Thailand made Super Thins and really liked them. So I ordered a card of 120.
The first shave with the newly purchased blades was horrible. I didn't even finish one WTG stroke. I immediately stopped and pulled the blade. Thinking it might just be one bad blade, I reloaded and experienced the same sandpaper feeling.
I then tried a sample from five different tucks and they sucked. By now I'm over it and just grabbed a 7oclock sharpedge yellow and finished my shave.
I then compared the first "trial tuck" with the tucks from the card. I noticed right away the red color on the box wasn't the same, next no lot number and production date, the inner wrapping was different and the markings on the blades didn't look the same.
So I guess I got swindled. I don't want to trash talk the vendor as I haven't heard anything from him yet. I hope he will re place them with some genuine Thailand Gillette Super Thins.

Has anybody else seen this ? [Image: 423fe9bd8e4204fc066ed7dc922043e1.jpg]

I looked at the edges, in my wife's illuminated 10X mirror, they appear to beveled. However it looks like and feels like they are not honed. Just a rough bevel that's not finished.

There's a Vietnamese made Gillette Super Thin and a Thai Gillette Super Thin.
The Thai blade is more sought after and comes in the red package with the weird Saddam Husain looking dude on the box.
When I tried a single tuck of Thai Gillette Super Thin, it's was shave Nirvana.
I'm bummed that I got swindled... Oh well.

I did notice the writing on the "legit" tuck, next to Saddam, is a different size font and different characters.
I couldn't tell you what language it is.

I bought the same bogus looking Thai blades in Cambodia. Looked like it was printed by a kindergartener, no offense meant to kindergarteners . They're packaged with the Super Click. $.60 USD

Well, if someone made some counterfeits, I hope you get your money back.  This is horrible, that someone would stoop so low as to counterfeit razor blades.

The "Saddam Hussein looking dude" is King Gillette, the founder of Gillette.

I feel a little foolish for not knowing that the guy on the package is King Gillette.
I've been looking for the genuine Thailand Gillette Super Thins and the pictures, on eBay, look legit.
But it's a gamble

Gillette makes the Vietnam & Thailand blades in their Shanghai (China) plant.

Do you know if they were ever produced in Thailand?
The "real Gillette Super Thin" blades I had were made in 2014
How long have they been made in China?
Is a chance at getting some NOS Thai made blades?

They may be packaged in Thailand & Vietnam but this type has always been made in China. There are also Super Thins made in Brasil.

When I could source these blades the Platinums were far more popular than the Stainless. There are very few counterfeits in circulation
