Isn't T&H USA technically a different company? Might have to wait for the shipment I'm guessing.

Either way if they didn't change the formulation from what they have now, it's a mute point

Yes,thats true : the new Luxury Shaving soap (lavender scent) seems to be impossible to lather.

I have an enormous respect for the T&H brand, as I have several items from them (creams, brush, etc.) that I use and like... but the T&H "Luxury" shave soap was my biggest disappointment with a wet-shaving item, so far. Terrible shaving soap, impossible to lather - I ended up using it as a bath soap, and keeping the bowl to use with an AOS soap.

I hope that these soaps are better performance-wise. The 1805 aroma is very tempting.

Teiste, have you tried it again with your new found lathering skills?

I just got this e-mail from T&H:

"Hello Amir,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The new soaps will be of the same base as our Luxury shave soap, just different fragrance - either 1805 and Sandalwood fragrance.

Both soaps should be in our warehouse within 2-3 weeks."

I wanted to get the 1805 , but after my bad experience with the new Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Limes shaving soap , I will leave it for another brave person.

Well, since the "new" 1805 soap is based on the "old" Luxury SS, I'll go find my stored away bowl of Luxury soap and try it again. It's in a box in the basement for a reason. I just don't recall what the reason was. Maybe performance (or lack of), maybe the scent disagreed at the time. I just don't recall.

Anyway, I'll locate it and try it tomorrow and gather fresh impressions. Hopefully that will give me a basis for a decision on the 1805.

BTW, I want the 1805 soap to be a great soap. I really enjoy the 1805 cream. Having that scent in a good soap would be a good thing.

The old T&H soap was great stuff, equal to any shaving soap I've used.

As I read the email the 1805 and Sandalwood are made with the new soap formula which diminishes my interest considerably.

Regards,
Squire

1805 and Lavender are my fav Truefitt and Hill scents , so I understand what you mean regarding "I want the 1805 soap to be a great soap".Looking forward to read your impressions of it.
