Do you warm your razor before shaving?

I always do. I run it under the hot water and/or let it sit in my scuttle while it's warming up.

Since it was a very hot day today, I decided to skip that step and see how it would be starting out with a cool razor. (my basement den stays fairly cool, even in the summer.) That first scrape was awful. I missed the nice warm razor. Of course, after I rinsed it, it was warm for the next scrape.

Will only be warm razors for me.

I quickly run it under hot water at the beginning of my shave, and then throughout the shave whenever oI rinse off the lather.

Yes, I sure do. I keep a small bowl of warm water during the shave to dunk/rinse the razor. Prior to the shave & while I shower, I soak the brush & razor in this warm water. I know some swear by a cold razor/blade - but this works for me.

Warming the razor lessens the brittleness of the blade. It prevents from nicks and cuts. I do make sure to do so in winters.

I've been using cold water for the last 2+ years, but I didn't do that when I was using warm water. I accidentally got the water too hot a couple of times and I did not like the feel of the hot metal on my face.

During the colder months, yes. But now that the weather is warming, no.

Always.  Before the start of the shave and with every rinse.

+1.  I always assumed the hot water did a better job rinsing off the shave cream.

After buying it dinner and a movie, it usually warms up on it's own.  But ya, I rinse it under hot water from the tap as I shave.  I never understood the swishing it in a sink of soapy water and shaved stubble.

My answer is it depends on the season.  In the summer I use cool water, in the winter I use warm water.  I con't like the feeling of a cold razor on my face in the winter.

Been doing it the last few months but use a straight so just hit the edge with really hot water before the first pass then rinse with hot water after that.

I run warm water over it before the shave and regularly rinse it under it during the shave. Never tried cold water, and don't dare to. I might have to one day however.

I to a hot prep on the face and then cold water shave from there. No special treatment for the razor aside from a quick rinse under cold water.

I used to, when I used warm water, but, now, I use cool water, so, now, I cool my razor. (And, also, my blade).

always.   Sometimes I will run it over the hot tap.  Other times I will bring up a pint of boiled filtered water and shave with that. Nice hot lather that makes.
