The name coupled with the choice of colour makes me wonder, yes...

Interesting, particularly due to the Spanish text.  Where did you get them?  Can you post a picture of the actual blade?

Looks like something you use in a razor knife in a workshop.

You might have hit the nail on the head there... blades for cutting, not shaving. I looked again, and noticed that there is a hammerhead in the D. A quick google lead me to the website doitbest(dot)com, which describe product #301694 as "All blades are notched and feature steel back. Fits all types of single-edge scrapers.". Soooo... not something I would put in my razors.

For those curious - as I were - the spanish text translate simply as "single-edged razor blades".

I believe all of the spined blades are utilitarian in origin and purpose and the shaving community just applied them to razor designs decades ago.  In their basic form, they are all the same and that blade could be as effective as many other "GEM" blades.

The Spanish text says "cuchillas de afeitar de un solo filo."  This means single edge blades for shaving.  "Afeitar" means shaving.  This company may produce single edge blades for scraping or cutting, but these blades claim they are designed for shaving.  The question is how well they work for shaving, and whether they are different than their blades for scraping and cutting.

I'd like to see a picture of the blade.  Is it black?

It says it's for shaving and it's on the internet so it must be true!

Can't argue with that logic.

Usually Do It Best is a hardware store brand. Based on that I think those blades would work well for scraping paint. For shaving? I'd pass.

The website says they're made in China.  The three listed stock numbers are the same blade in different size packages.  They look crudely made in the picture, and it seems like they're made for cutting and scrapping. The online description says they fit paint scrappers.  The only statement indicating that they're made for shaving is on the box.    I would not put these on my face regardless of the box saying they're for shaving.

Mike, those aren't for shaving AT ALL.  "Do It Center" is a popular smaller chain hardware store here in California (not sure if they are located anywhere else outside of Cali).

That is their old logo.  Below is a .png of their old logo:

Those particular blades are honed for nothingness, maybe for scraping stickers or paint as was mentioned before.

I wouldn't use them.

Cheers!

There's a Do It Best hardware store not far from here.  Makes me laugh every time I pass it.
