I've never personally blown the nose of a snail, nor do I know if they even have a 'nose' - so to speak .... but if they did, and they had a runny nose ... I bet that snail snot is pretty 'slick'

Anyway - I bought a tub of TOBS cream in Ceadarwood scent.  Man did this stuff build a beautiful lather and it was a very plesant scent.

Thanks Phil at Bullgoose for the Oops 10% coupon the other day ... it prompted the purchchase and I'm happy it did!

Great shave this morning with that cream and an ATT-H Kronos - 2nd shave on a Merkur stainless blade. (Sometimes my 2nd and 3rd shaves on a blade are better than the 1st or 4th)

When my wife and I were in Italy, I bought a 10-pack of DE blades for a trip of about equal length.  I was new to traditional wet shaving then.  We only carry on, so i couldn't travel with the blades - and I couldn't return home with them either.

I mistakenly thought, 'How luxurious, I get to have a fresh blade every day!' ... not realizing that I seldom get my 'best' shave from a blade thats brand new - for some reason.  I should have used only three of the blades 3 times each and I would have had more enjoyable shaves.  Live and learn.

Others have also reported getting better results on the second shave on a blade.  I only use a blade only once, but everyone has to find what works best for them.

Yes, I predominantly use Polsilver SI blades and pretty much find that the second and third shaves are smoother than on first use. I always discard after three shaves, though.

Agreed I about 3-4 shaves with most blades before I discard.

I also get my most comfortable shaves from sharper blades on the second and third uses. After the third use on most every blade I have ever used the shaves begin to lose comfort.

Feathers, for me, are always better on the second or third shave (and don't last beyond that). GSB's seem great from the start, as do SE feather pros/pro-supers.
