My experience is that good technique and a mild razor is more important than what blade I put in it.

Mine too.  I'l also add that pushing for a BBS shave when my technique wasn't fully developed left me with razor bumps and razor burn more often than not.  Very sharp blades like Feather's or Kai's have also given me problems.

What does your pre shave routine look like?  I had more trouble with my shave when I was doing an elaborate pre shave prep.  Now my pre shave routine consists of washing my face in the shower before I get out and shave.  Hot towels and pre shave oils or soaps just irritated my skin.

What razor and blade are you using now?

Signs011   I will also add that proper prep, with a lot of hot water, is essential.  Additionally, avoid doing ATG and XTG passes on the areas prone to ingrown hairs.

There's one spot on my neck that's very prone to ingrowns, but I don't tend to get them with Feathers.
