it's likely that the DNS information hasn't fully propagated in your area yet.

are you using your ISP's DNS?

I've had that happen to me a few times lately. Server overload? Nook getting popular?

you'll probably get the error until the DNS information is done propagating. they usually say between 24-72 hours and it's been about 48.

if you're on windows, try running the following command from a command prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

if you're on a mac, try these:

Mac OSX 10.4 and below
lookupd -flushcache

Mac OSX 10.5 and above
dscacheutil -flushcache

it's more than likely because your ISP's DNS hasn't updated yet. I'd recommend using google's DNS or openDNS if you want something that updates extremely fast.

Domain Name Server - It resolves address name like http://www.shavenook.com to IP addresses like 160.192.45.29 so computers can find each other on a network.

to flush the local DNS?

it's most likely happening because your ISP hasn't cleared their cache and pulled the new information for the site, but you can run this command in terminal:

/etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart

what I'd really recommend doing is switching to google's DNS or openDNS, which are both free.

tell him to switch your router DNS info (if you have one) to use google or opendns.

It's back! Huh

I've encountered the message again a few times this morning, however refreshing the page a few times seems to eliminate the problem...

hmn...

I'll have to ask the cloudflare team and see what they say.

the DNS should be fully propagated by now since it's been 3 days now.

If I have this problem, and I have had this problem a few times, I just click on that blue bar that says Retry for a live version of the site.

guys, if you encounter that error again, try using this link to see if it'll allow you to access the site:

direct.shavenook.com

note that the link will take you to the portal, but once you click anything on the site that is a link, it'll take you away from direct.shavenook.com. all we're doing here is bypassing cloudflare's network to see if it's something on the host side or something on their side.
