Anyone aware of this razor?
I've been talking to the founder and he is in the process of finding a machine shop capable of handling the project.

There's going to be many GEM razor on the market soon, Charcoal Good has one coming, Wolfman has been said to have SE razors coming, ATT at the end of the month and of course the Blankland Sabre that was just released and getting great feed back. I wonder if anyone will challenge OB and come out with a pivot head.

A well made pivot head razor with artist club blades is something I have great interest in.  OneBlade turned me off with their blade selection and then playing some games with blade availability.

Don't forget the Rocnel SE-G. I've got one, and really like it. Aside from its compelling industrial look and design, it has a bit of aggressive oomph, with its open comb and blade stop-free design. I really like it but, if Charcoal Goods comes out with the design Brian posted as a concept, I'll buy it. As will many others.

Didn't Charcoal Goods post that SE design as an April Fools prank?

Yup but he got so much interest in it that he said he was going to look into making one.

I saw that too, but not a word since. It may be on his radar but I don't think it is close enough to be in consideration at this point with the others mentioned.

I spoke to Brian about it (by email). I don't think it was an April Fools joke; rather, he was presenting a design that one day he hopes to pursue. His life is very busy right now, and I wouldn't expect any further discussion about it by him for some time. He's in the process of moving his operation from the east coast to the west, so he's consumed by other things. I encouraged him to pursue that design, as it seems to be most true to the vintage designs among the newcomers, and I find it magnificently beautiful. I'm not speaking for Brian--just reporting what I've heard and my perceptions...

He said on his Facebook page that it was intended to be an April Fools day prank. However, due to the response he got that it might be good for him to look into it more. I've not had any private discussions with him, but publicly that is what he stated. What he does from here is of course up to him, but initially it was intended as a joke.

The General has the best head design to accommodate a pivot to.
An email to the Evans Brothers @ Colonial Razors could put the thought to action.
That's what I would do.  Perhaps I will.
