Few days ago, I went shopping with my family in Indian Mart and looking for Godrej creams in Shaving products Aisle they dont have it sadly, instead i bought Dettol fresh Shaving cream, the box is modern and tube is plastic, I opened and smelled just like dettol.
I will try it sometime later and see how it performs.

I tried all three of my international market type stores looking for shaving products, but I completely struck out. Nice find, though! I'm looking forward to hearing about this stuff.

It performs just as good, if not better than Godrej.

I have a Dettol Cool cream which lathers awesome, and has a good cooling effect, although quite a bit less than Godrej Menthol Mist. The scent of this Dettol Cool cream is fairly nice.

I have been hunting for the Godrej creams. No go in Manhattan's Indian cluster, so I tried the much bigger cluster in Jackson Heights, Queens. To my disappointment, only one store had any Indian brands at all -- no Godrej, just the Dettol Cool and Fresh, plus two "Park Avenue" creams.

I bought both Dettols and gave the Cool a go this morning. It's not a face-freezer, but the menthol certainly makes its presence known. Pretty good stuff at 91 grams for $3.99.

I'll try the Fresh tomorrow. I am likely to continue the hunt for Godrej in Jersey City's Indian cluster.

I love Godrej creams. They perform equally good when compared to big names. It is just the scent where they lag behind. They sell for INR 55 ( Less than a dollar ) here in India.

It seems like Indian creams are not too easy to find outside of India.

That was my experience in New York City, despite its very large Indian community. No go in Jersey City either. One store proprietor told me "Nobody buys it" and noted that the shipping costs are also stiff.

ebay is your friend. A quick search brings up Godrej, Dettol, Palmolive, Old Spice (!) and others for around $5/tube shipped (less if you buy multipacks). As someone who grew up on these brands - I reckon the shave performance is at least as good as Proraso (if not better); certainly the best product at that price point. Not as good as an Als or XPEC though! :-)

Thanks for the information. Smile I've used all those creams and I love them. There are some other Indian brands which are less known which I would be interested in trying.

I came back to Dettol Cool this morning and will revisit Dettol Fresh tomorrow.
These two are now in my heavy rotation (5x a week between them), now that I've finished my two tubs of TOBS.

I enjoyed the Cool today. It had been at least a few months.
I haven't yet tried Godrej Cool, which Indian friends brought over for me, but Dettol Cool is like a nice gentle breeze on the face.
Its performance is otherwise quite satisfying too.

if you like these SC, I would highly recommend trying out Vicco Turmeric SC. One of my favorites.

I think I may actually have seen that one when I conducted my search of NYC's Indian neighborhoods last year, Balaji.
If I recall, it was in the cluster of stores on Lexington Avenue in the high 20s.

I also seem to recall reading some polarizing remarks about this particular product, though -- its scent may not be for all.
