I will change knots as they shed and need replacement - but I don't think I need any more.

What do you think?

The phrase that comes to mind is "famous last words" Tongue

That said you probably have more brushes than you strictly speaking need, but that is not the same as having all the brushes you might end up wanting.

Lovely collection though, I really like the one you made yourself for a wide range of reasons Smile

In today's saturated market it takes but one seed of curiosity to initiate another buying spree. With many options and hype, we are but magpies sitting on a fence, unless of course you have iron resolve Smile

I've said that a number of times. I even made 2 whole years without a new brush....once.

Yes, I'm done with new brushes too.  Absolutely no more acquisitions.  Period.  Just like I said twice last year and once this year.

My new Thater is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. 49125 with 2-tone handle, size 4.

When my collection hits a dozen, I'll start to take myself seriously.  I've got a ways to go...

What do you think?

Dear Mr. Eagle,

I must respectfully disagree with your position re: being "done" as it pertains to the acquisition of "more or different brushes." As the young people say nowadays, ROFLMFAO. If I had access to a rolling head emoji right now, I'd be spinning it your way. Or in laymen's terms, Whaddya, freakin nuts or sumn? My dear, misguided Mr. Eagle,,, we all go through this. Now it is your turn.

Good luck with your self-imposed will-power thing. Be warned, you're heading where many have ventured, but none have actually returned according to plan. I've personally tried. It can't be done. Indeed, one of our more eloquent members recently obtained hizself a brand spankin' new 2 band badger after many years of denying the possibility of entertaining the thought of considering whether or not to look into the possibility of maybe getting around to thinking about a backup shave brush.

You will buy another brush. Please just stop all this crazy talk right now.

Sincerely,

chazt

P.S. I'm kidding, of course (mostly).

You guys are horrible! .... back in WW2 ... some POWs would create a diversion so another could escape.  Had you been there, what would you have said?  'You'll never make it!' ... 'You'll just get yourself killed!' ....

Here I am - trying to cure myself of a terrible addiction, and you just poo-poo all over It!     Biggrin

(Said with a heavy dose of sarcasm)

SBAD is my one true AD... well and aftershaves. Up to 21 plus a couple of knots awaiting the right handle. I've tried to sell some off, but then more just show up on my doorstep. Can't leave them homeless. I've decided it's probably just best if I give into the Rapture of the SBAD.

'Done' to me means that I now no longer constantly have a new brush in my mind, that I'm about to buy.

It does not mean that I'm done buying brushes forever.
I will add a brush or two a year from now on.

But that's not SBAD in my mind. That's far more normal behaviour.

Beautiful collection.
I remember saying "I was done with brushes"... four or fives times.
Last time was last week. May be I am done for good now...
