The title might not translate very well. Another way to say it is: Of the soaps that are still made, which one do you desperately hope never gets discontinued?

Honestly......none.

I have so many great performing soaps, that I couldn't care if they discontinued one brand.

I have enough soaps to last me a life time anyways........

All the hype and new releases doesn't affect me any longer....it's all hype and sales promotion.

I have to agree with Claus to a certain extent. We have already seen fabulous soaps like iColoniali discontinued and we just have so many choices nowadays.

That being said I would be disappointed if Nuavia Rossa or Phoenix & Beau's Spitfire were to go away.

Any of the classics are tough to lose , Michells , proraso , cella , tabac etc. I don't use them all the time but to see any go away would be tough.

Mike's and CRSW. I rely on those two as my daily drivers, and would have to work hard to find replacements that offer similar cushion, protection, and overall feel.

I would have to, also, agree with Claus in that I have much too many soaps to worry about any one soap disappearing, even the artisanal ones. Also, there are just so many great options, at the moment, that there really is no need to worry. After all, it is just soap.   Shy

Claus, it doesn't affect me at all. Every time a new soap hits the market, all the enthusiasts say it's a lot better than some established soap brands, CRSW for example. I just don't believe it. In today's forums you read whatever you can imagine. Doesn't mean it's true. On another forum, a guy said that B&M are better soaps than I Coloniali by FAR, by a wide margin! "Fake news" I say.

ymmv. The tears we shed may be used to bloom the remainder of the soap being discontinued. On a related note, the author of "Who moved my Cheese" recently passed away...

Guys, It was supposed to be a fun thread, since the forum has dried up with ideas for the past month or more.

A THIRD way to put it is: what soap/brand would you miss the most if it disappeared from the face of the earth (including your stash)?

I would be pretty sad to not have Cold River Soap Works in my rotation. It's my staple soap and I could lather it in my sleepSmile

MDC

While not by best performer (Valobra), there is not another soap like it.  It's unique in it's properties, scent, and presentation.  Plus, it was my first "premium" soap purchase, so there is that sort of emotional attachment. Also, over the years, I've gotten to know the people behind the company and they are just superb.

I would never want to be without a jar of MDC.

Darn it Ron!!! I might have to try another tub of MDC, as I had it about 3 years ago for a quick spell and never gave it a chance.

Valobra. There is enough soap around not worry about it, but Valobra is the type of product I reach for when I want a reliable soap.
Drying up alright ...

I was crushed when icoloniali stopped producing shaving soap. However I still keep thinking it's only a matter of time till they return.

Backing off a bit from the intensity of “crushed” and “desperately,” I would be disappointed if Haslinger Schafmilch was discontinued; and more disappointed if Michelle Burns took retirement from imagining ever more creative varieties of Mystic Water soaps.
