I switch between the two now....
I have consistently the same results (DFS & BBS) with either. However the shave experience itself is very different.
Kai "sings" it's way through my beard and in general has a more aggressive feel to it.
POLSILVER just quietly and smoothly goes about it's business.

Ah, but there are at least three (maybe more) Russian Gillette Platinums (platina?): blue box, white box, and Rubie. Supposedly, they are three different blades.

Perhaps Platinae?

Really though, it's probably best to use the plural noun, 'blades' after the proper noun.

Having said what I found to be the smoothest blades when I was still using current models, here is what I found to be the best period and what I use exclusively now: Personna 74's and Super Stainless both the U.S.A and British versions, Wilkinson Light Brigades, Gillette Platinum Plus and "Spoilers" and Schick Stainless, Super Stainless and Plus Platinums, all NOS.

I've said it elsewhere, but the standard Personna Blues are the best combo of smooth and sharp in my book. It doesn't hurt that I can get more clean shaves out of them than with an Astra, too.

Astras.. I've been wet shaving for a few years and I've only tried astras and feathers. Astras provide me a great shave everytime. I'm constantly in search of new gear. Razors and brushes but I haven't caught the blade bug. Although it would probably be much cheaper  Dodgy

My inventory is Gillette Yellows and Astra SPs.  However, I just did a trade for some POLSILVER Iridiums and Kais.  Both seem to be good but I am not sure I will purchase any more.

Best for me if using dual criteria of delivering a quality shave whilst being smooth - hands down Polsilver

I would have to say either a Gillette Platinum or a Treet Platinum
