I just did a BIN on one of these. It's got the aluminum handle.

I have a red tip, blue tip and a flare tip; where does the black tip fit in?
I know it's not necessarily part of the series above and being from 1951, it seems to fit in between the 40's style SS's and the series of light, medium and aggressive SS's.
How does the black tip rate on the scale?

I would think that with an aluminum handle, it would have a different balance, (more toward the head = ?slightly more aggressive?) than the other Super Speeds aside from the red tip.
Any info is much appreciated! I don't read too much about this one.

Ive had a few of these and they are beauties... If memory serves me right, these were built specifically for those who have sensitive skin which would make it one of the more mild SS's out of the ones you referenced. Some were made with aluminum handles, and others with steel. Enjoy it!

I had one with the nickel handle but it was still a very light weight razor. The shave was just okay.

I used to have one of these, and it shaved for me much like a blue tip SS, very mild.

I've got a steel handle 51 black tip and I find it shaves very much like my 40's style superspeed.
