I am not a big fan of Le Père Lucien soap, but this all natural formulation smells and performs wonderfully well. I'm extremely pleased and love the crock!

From your description Dan, I would not like the scent.  However, it's a beautiful ceramic container and the performance of the soap will be excellent.  In terms of which LPL soaps I do like, the TSN/LPL LE in Oud-Santal is superb.  I'm currently waiting for the LPL in Apricot, and looking forward to trying that.  I usually only use tallow based soaps, but the Apricot scent is interesting enough to try.

Ricardo, enjoy your Abricot LPL. I really enjoy it in the warmer months (of which there are few in Seattle), but I wish the scent were stronger. Nonetheless, I'm using it quite a bit during our heat wave. In fact, it's on deck for tomorrow! I still like Oud/Santal better, and the Rose de Pushkar would be up there if I weren't a MdC Rose user. I also enjoy the Traditionnel, but it's not as distinctive to my nose. All are great performers for me.

@doc47, where do I find this masterpiece to buy?

Rasoirs Darwin has an Etsy page. The jars appear to be vintage and unique; I.e. No two the same.

Yes, they are each unique vintage bowls, and the soap is a collaboration with LPL.

Dan, that bowl is beautiful. I'm sure the soap is great since it's made by Cyril.

Thanks Nick! You are right about the soap, Cyril did a wonderful job and his newer formulation is a winner in my book.

LPL soaps are all great performers.  Dan, is this a different formulation than his regular non-tallow soaps?

Ricardo, I was referring to his old formulation from a couple of years ago (I had several tins and sold them because they were so hard to lather and the fragrances were weak). This soap is a croap and lathers quickly and easily for me and has a 7-10 strength of smell. I think it is probably the same as his other non-tallow soaps, but I'm not sure how this collaboration worked. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the clarification Dan.  Whatever the formulation is, you have LPL performance, a scent you like, and a uniquely beautiful vintage ceramic container.  Great acquisition!

hello, DARWIN is well made by LPL, it is a specific scent not found directly at LPL, it is exclusively distributed by DARWIN and is very citrus / lemon, for my part I really like everything that is acidulous / fruity. For once, I was not disappointed and more LPL advance and more he designs new soaps performance ever better. The DARWIN shop can be found on ETSY.
I have already ordered a sample to make my own opinion that i will have to receive during the weeek.
RasoirsDARWIN is a store of Charles FINLEY, Thomas & Ash.
