So I have discovered after having serious RAD for a while that I have aquired 2 razors that has had me thinning out my collection . I realized that it is cool to have all the hard to get razors and rare pieces but at the same time I have come to also realize that's it's even cooler to have razors that just work for you . The 2 razors that have me thinning the herd are the R1 Calypso and the Paradigm . I have used and owned all the top dogs out there but for some reason these 2 razors just top the bunch for me . Has anyone else went through this coming to light so to speak experience ? If so what were the razors that did it for you ?

The Asylum Rx and the Cobra Classic did it for me.  I've sold off several razors at this point.  I've still held onto a few DEs that I like, but don't use often.  We'll see if they stay in the den over time.

What I have been selling off I have now been on a Brush kick . It's a viscous circle lol . I know maybe down the road I will more then likely try new razors again , but for now I'm very happy . I haven't jumped into SE's yet so that might be next .

I know what you mean, my BBS-1 and One Blade are my best shavers.

Yea Im down to a Wolfman and a Sabre, Im pretty happy with just two good razors, going to add a straight razor in the future but I like a smaller more manageable collection. Brushes are whats creeping up on me now, ever since I seen Bristle Brushwerk handles... I had no interest in wood handles until then.

I have a Timor Butterfly, a Master Barber Classic Butterfly, and, a Merkur 38C.  This is all I need.  I have used, only, the Timor, in the past eight weeks, or, so.

I have only three razors in the lineup.

ATT H1 on a titanium non-ATT handle
Rocnel SE-G
Calypso R1 (for when I want a milder shave than the othes)

I am beginning to experiment with Feather shavettes now .... so it never ends

They are! Both very similar: aggressive, pretty smooth, and work well for me. I might be in trouble though... SE shaves are slowly winning me over! Maybe I'll end up with just one...

EDIT: Now that I look at that photo closer, it is the ATT SE1 head on the Grand Titan L. However, I'm keeping only the H1 head from above the tie - as the RX fits my SE preferences.

Timeless single bar smooth cap .95 gap.
Since I have this one, no other DE gets any love.

Interesting Post.

I find that most days I use a Weber PH. Occasionally I use something else, but 13 out of 14 days, its the Weber.

Curious isn't it?

Since the acquisition of my Asylum Evolution in mid June I've used it for all but half a dozen shaves. Prior to that my basic rotation was a particular prewar Tech and a sweet Red Tip. Two dozen other razors just sit in the drawer. Poor little razors...

Somewhat different - my recent razor purchases both started and cured RAD.  I have also increased the number in my rotation.

First new addition was the B&R Adjustable.  First shave and first time I debated shaving the next day.  Double the price I set as a maximum and increased my price points.  Future purchases included a Guerrilla and a Charcoal Goods.

I no longer have any desire to own a Pils, Timeless, Muhle Rocca, various ATT models, Rockwell 6s, etc.  I also will be selling 1 razor from my collection.

I have always tried to keep a low number. My original goal was 2, but I have 3 razors in my rotation. I mainly use my Wolfman and Blackbird. I don't use my ATT as much and I've thought about selling it to get the number down to 2, but then I use it and remember how much I like it, so I'm just going to keep it. There are other de razors I would like to try, but I'm happy with what I have. I might buy one of the new Gem blade razors though.
