The 3-band Thater in a fan knot has ridiculous bloom potential, that's for sure.

2 Band Fan (24 mm) has quite a nice bloom, too.

3 band thader was one of my first brushes.  started a big bad habit i'm afraid.  settled in at 50 or so.

Before making a final judgement on the Simpson brand as a whole, you might try one knotted in Super Badger. Overall, that hair grade is much softer on the face in my opinion.

I do plan to revisit simpson brushes eventually, but after buying 2 in a row I felt like trying other brands first before going for a super.

Romera Manchurian is an excellent brush. A great suggestion TripleG!

Romera also gets my vote!
Great value proposition.

You might also consider a Semogue from Vintage Scent.
