The first movie was absurd fun. I'll swing by the store to check out the scent, which is the best part about retail vs. mail order.

I have been meaning to make a thread about this new cream. I personally think it is the best smelling scent/cream from them I have ever smelled. I hope they will make this a permanent offering.

Jake- is there anything you can compare it to in terms of scent. I am a big fan of their Oud shave cream.

I wish there was, but of all the scents I have smelled it is pretty unique. It is one of the most potent AoS scents I have smelled out of the tub. I would say it smells like a dark woody type scent but not like a cedar or some other generic/common style wood scent. It does have a bourbon style scent to it, but not like a sting your nose style bourbon scent. It is a very smooth scent. I wish I could be more help. If it tells you anything I am trying to thin out my den and feel like it is a must have. The only thing holding me back is having never used an AoS cream before I am not sure if it is worth the $32 price tag.

AoS cream is as good as they get, IMNSHO.
If you like the scent, buy it!

Thanks for the info and I agree with Matt.  I like the AoS creams alot.  I had a bit of sticker shock the first time purchasing but don't have issue with pricing/value having used them.

Bourbon is matured in oak casks, which could be where the wood notes come from.

And $32? Is that because it's limited or have they raised their prices? I remember thinking $25 was steep even though both scent and performance are great.

I enjoy AOS creams (and vintage soaps), especially their more recent scents. I haven't had the time to fight the crowded freeways to the mall to my local AOS store, and decided the $5 shipping was worth not going to the mall. I'll report on the scent once it arrives.

Although I primarily use soaps, I do agree that AoS shaving cream is outstanding.  Unfortunately, neither the Oud or Bourbon are available in a soap.

You guys got to me, next time I go to the mall that has AoS I'll bite the bullet. I don't need to at the moment because my A.D. has already been out of control recently. I do love the scent!

I popped into the Chandler AZ location today. The scent, as usual with AoS, is very good - it just isn't to my taste. In addition to the bourbon, I get more of a tobacco than a smoky vetiver out of it.

However, the paired cologne, Bourbon Amber, was much nicer. The amber added a sweetness that improved the scent and I didn't get that tobacco note. It did tempt me breifly, as did the Penhaligon's Quercus while I was in the store. I did manage to walk away with money, rather than shave products, in hand.

I want to buy it, but Art of Shaving doesn't ship it to Puerto Rico. Nordstrom of Puerto Rico doesn't have it either.

I think that it's another terrific new scent for AOS fans. How can you go wrong with bourbon amber?

I stopped in to smell this cream at my local mall, unfortunately to me it smelled like Deep Woods Off bug spray
It's the only AoS scent I haven't enjoyed.
