Most of the available safety razors are made of zamak/pot metal/die-cast zinc and therefore are brittle when exposed to peaks of force.

Are there safety razors, that are NOT made of zamak/pot metal/die-cast zinc...?

I would prefer a razor made of something like (stamped?) Brass, Stainless Steel...
I want my razor to outlive me OR at least it should last longer than 15 years *lol* Biggrin

Thank you for your input! (Please deliver a source for your claims or at least some anecdotal evidence)

Any suggestions are welcome. Smile

There are plenty of Stainless Razors available. Blackbird, Timeless and ATT just to name a few. If you like brass you can also look into FATIP, and Charcoal Goods but not sure yet if that's readily available.

Lastly there are plenty of vintages, modern aluminum razors, bakelight and an ABS Plastic too from Fine. Lots of choices out there.

Among DE razors that existed (arbitrary figure) 30 months (2½ years) ago, and therefore might promise still to be in production perhaps a third of your (presumably arbitrary) 15 years, you might look at:

•  Feather AS-D2 (the AS stands for “All Stainless”)
•  iKon (top of the line models stainless steel; Shavecraft models aluminum)
•  Standard Razors (aluminum)
•  FaTip (brass)

ATT, Timeless, Wolfman (Guerrilla, or WR1 and BBS-1 if you can find one) would be my top choices. All are machined steel (as opposed to sintered/MIM) and will easily outlive you.

There are tons of razors out there - old and new - that isn't Zamak. But zamak isn't bad, as long as you maintain it... most zamak razors outlive their users if cared for.

Well, a quick search on the site for "stainless steel razor" or "titatnium razor" should show a lot of the high end options.

Many vintage Gillettes aren’t zamak. If you see a faced cap it probably is zamak.
