Anyone notice Weber polished head razors showing up on a popular auction site and the seller is in China and these are going for $12 - $25 recently?

Fake?  Or did Weber use a Chinese manufacturer and maybe they have overstock?  Just curious to see what you all think ...

Weber's website claims "made in USA".  Might be worth searching "acquisitions" for current purchases.

I believe they have also offered Above the Tie razors as "Buy it Now" offerings for about one tenth of retail.  I was tempted, but caution prevailed.

This might be a scam.  I've seen other high-value shave items all get listed by sellers in China for well below market value.  Sometimes they all use the same photos but different sellers.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The Chinese razors being sold are fake!

But think about it.  "Real" Weber's, auctioned on *cough*-Bay, are going for $150 and I've seen as high as $220.  Suddenly, some schmo from China is selling a complete Weber for "$12 - $25."   Laughing1  It reeks of. . . .well. . .you know.  And people fall for it.

Watch the trend on said "auction site."  "Real" items showing a substantial profit and you'll quickly see Chinese knockoffs.  And eBay permits it.  lol  Two excellent examples. . . .the watch and knife worlds.

The Chinese would "knock-off" a dead person's undershorts if they thought it would earn a $ .10 profit.  Hey, just like Flea-Bay!

There are no "knock-offs".  The Chinese razors don't exist.  They are scammers.  If you send them money, you will get nothing; no razor, no booby prize, nothing.  Scam!  Get it?!

Some people are too gullable, don't be "that guy" .. if it sounds way too good to be true then most likely it is. I fell for the scam one time on the "bay" with some high end cologne that was nearly half the cost of my local Macy's store .. thought i was getting a great deal till it arrived and was noticebly fake. There are scammers all over "bay" so buyer beware

How would they get your credit card info? I'm assuming eBay would not be transmitting your card info?

The only way a seller can get your CC info is if you send it to them.

If you use PayPal or any of the reputable payment services, your CC, Debit, and bank account info is not sent to a seller.

A bit OT...but whatever happened to Weber?  I know they weren't the most communicative generally, but was there any detail on why they didn't want to keep moving forward?  I understood that their molds were getting old and needed to be redone.  It's a shame someone hasn't picked up the torch as I think this would continue to be a very competitive offering in the market.

Weber Razor is still around - they're making razor handles.

I've read several reasons why the company stopped making DE heads.  Not sure which story is correct, so I won't comment further.

I wish Weber would have continued.

I waited too long to buy a Weber razor. They ended production before I’d made the decision to purchase one. I did however buy one of their wave handles. It’s got really fine heft and balance. I use it with my lone remaining Merkur head as a traveling razor.

Thanks for the info.  I didn't realize they were still making handles.
