For me, GSB wins this by a fairly large margin.  YMMV, but I never could get Polsilvers to work for me.

GSB slightly smoother than Polsilvers, similar on other two criteria.  Best blade out there IMO unless you can find vintage Polish Wizamet Polsilvers.

These two are very close in my book.
I'd probably give the GSB first choice if I was packing my bag for travel.
I still use them both, now and again.

It's been a while since I've used either one, but I think GSBs were smoother and Polsilvers were sharper. Polsilvers definitely lasted longer. I was able to consistently get 10 shaves out of them.

Polsilver, for me, on all counts.
Not a huge difference in sharpness, but the Polsilver is the smoother of the two. I also find the GSB falls off after only 3 shaves.

For me the GSB was a disappointment due to all the positive reviews. My face didn't like them at all. Polsilver blades are fantastic though and among my top used blades which also include Perma-Sharp Super and Gillette Nacet.

GSBs tend to have stiction for me - there is an initial resistance to cutting (a minor tugging).  Nice blade but not for me.  Polsilvers on other hand have all cutting ability of Feathers but are significantly smoother and forgiving of mistakes.  For those with imperfect technique, Polsilver over Feather but if you're spot on Feather rules.

The Super Iridium, but, for me, the Perma-Sharp Super beats both.

GSB all the way. I just wish they wouldn't put so much wax on them.

the glue is outrageous as though the mob going to try steal blades out of packaging whilst unloading on docks.  Good God!

Just did inventory on my blades:

Polsilver: 1,325 (my #1)
GSB: 264 (my #2)

7 other brands averaging each about half my GSB quantity.

Fearing the on again, off again rumors about Polsilvers going out of production, I'll be ordering another 3-400, just in case - and maybe another 1-200 of the GSBs.

May I ask why?. Even if you live to be 100 years old will you use that many blades?. I can get over a weeks worth of shaves from either of these blades.

The BST will always be here waiting for discontinued hardware.

Think of it like buying silver.

Fair question.

I get on average about 5 top-notch shaves per blade, my beard and skin being what they are.  That's about 18 years' worth of shaves.  Another 400 would yield an additional 5 years, minimum.  Couple that with all the other "lesser-brands" in my stash and I *might* have a sufficient qty to last me to 100 (suspecting our ages might be a little different too).

But looked at this way - 1,700 Polsilvers at $0.30 per blade translates to about 145 cartridges (@ $3.50 ea), which at the advertised 14 shaves per cartridge would only last about 5 years (5 years of at best, questionably marginal shaves).

I figure I can afford to go a little overboard on my Polsilver stash.  If I don't use them, there's definitely a market for them, right now anyway.  And if I die early, I wouldn't dream of leaving any cartridges in my estate; but I'd be glad to bequeath any leftover Polsilvers I might have (or any of my other double edge stash for that matter).

When I was using modern blades both of these were on my favorites list. They tied in all three categories.  For me.

I'd give the edge to Gillette, but barely.
