I've mostly used vintage Gillettes from the late 40's through early 60's and, frankly, any of them would do.  However, I recently got a Feather AS-D2 and that razor matched with a Feather blade could easily be my only.  I haven't tried some of the spendy artisan razors so have no idea about them.  It was enough for me to spend $140 on the Feather.

Fatip Piccolo. Efficient, OC, well built, solid handle, affordable, works well with various razor blades.

Gentlemen,
I have used everything from the vintage Gillettes to the Wolfman, BBS-1, Blackbird, ATT, iKon, Muhle, EJ, Pils, Paradigm, and scores of other DE and SE razors. And the Timeless. No safety razor gives me the pleasures of the Timeless in every respect, from closeness to comfort. So make my ultimate razor the Timeless .95.

Feather AS-D2. It has a nice thin head, made of stainless steel and it handles any razor blade very nicely, even a Treat Black Beauty. If I must be limited to one razor--- this is the one!

Vintage -  I'd have to say either a # 34 Aristocrat OC or a NEW Deluxe Big Boy.

Modern - Either my Timeless .95 OC or my Charcoal with both level 2 & 3 baseplates.

This is impossible!  Can't imagine life with just one razor.

If I absolutely HAD TO, though, I guess I would choose my post-war Tech (or my Hybrid Tech) on a UFO Titan Fine L handle.  I shave everyday and these razors are reliable and comfortable.

If i had to keep just one razor, that would be a Merkur 41c. Mild, efficient, forgiving, what else you can ask from a razor?

I would have to say the Muhle R41. With the right blade, I find it a very smooth shaver, and it's hard to beat the efficiency.

I could survive with any one of three:

Mergress

Rockwell 2c, plate 3

Oval slot Tech

If someone wiped out my razor stash completely, I think I'd just get the Rockwell.
