Just ordered 5 different custom brushes in 1 week. Listed below. I'll post pics as they come in.
1) El Druida -Rustic Ebony and Olivewood 2 band Manchurian fan shaped 25-26mm
2) PantaRei-Bulb shaped "Chemistry" design on black/charcoal background 2 band Manchurian 28-30mm
3) Markus Herber-Rubberset 400 replica in deep bronze color handle with gold cap and electric blue cap
4) Elite Razors(Bob Quinn custom designed)-copper and silver metal handle in my shape choice with 26mm fan shaped Manchurian 2 band knot
5) Turtleship-Machine design handle with 24mm synthetic knot.

Last but not least, the brush I ordered from Artesania Romero is finally shipping to me this coming week after placing my order in May. I will never order anything from Gustavo again but the olivewood brush I ordered from him with a 26mm 2 band fan shaped Manchurian knot should be beautiful if he does it right. We'll see. Like I said, I'll post pics as the brushes come in.

I was told 5 weeks on the Druida and I told him I was skeptical about ordering because of the Romero. We'll see.

Finishing. I got a wood handle and the finishing came off on the first wash. Went from a greasy shine to untreated plain wood. I did not even use warm water. There was several other finishing flaws, but I'll let his signature speak for him.

Then again, he's also done an excellent job for some. That's why I wanted one for me!

Interesting!! Did you address it with him? Interested to know how he handled it. This is the first I have seen one of his brushes have a finishing problem. Haven't seen any complaints about his work on the various threads about his brushes.

He stopped responding to my emails.

Did you also have issues with Javier at Druida?

You said good luck with the Romera and Druida. Anyone else you know that had issues with the Druida? I am well aware of the issues with Gustavo at Romera but I have only heard of one issue in this thread with problems coming from Javier at Druida.

My comment wishing you luck was not meant to imply that I've had or know of  issues with either artisan.  I've never ordered a Romera or Druida, so I have no personal experience with either.  I have read the various posts about issues with Romera, but I don't recall seeing any post about issues with Druida.  Both artisans are certainly capable of producing fine brushes.

Ok, great because if you had issues with Druida, I would probably try to cancel my order. I value your opinions on these forums a ton!!

Correction: Romera knots WERE great.
The two knots I received from Gustavo in April (ordered January) were scratchy and far below his standard.  When I asked him why the change in knot suppliers since the knots were clearly different from my previous amazing brushes...he replied that he had not changed suppliers despite the clear drop in quality.
