I made a discovery while in California. Discovered Le Labo. I was so proud of myself for this wonderful discovery, only to find out that there is also one in Toronto, where I live. Oh well. Anyway, after considerable testing, and waiting until the next day to see how the dry down went, I selected their Rose 31.

Best rose fragrance I've found. From their website— "...Centifolia rose, quickly picked up by a chorus of warm, spicy and woodsy notes such as cumin, olbanum, cedar and a touch of amber…In the background, the declared sensuality of Gaïac wood and cistus..."

Works great on me. Doesn't last as long as I'd like, so I may try using a few more sprays. (only doing 3 at the moment)

They hand-blend it in their little lab after you select the fragrance. Not sure if that is to make it last longer, or is just a neat marketing thing.

Anyone tried any of the other scents?

Head over to 1618 N. Milwaukee Avenue and sniff it. I think it's absolutely amazing. (That's their Chicago location)

And let me know what you think. Don't forget to give it lots of dry down time.

How does the Vetiver 46 compare to Locctaine's Vetiver?

I like it a lot better. L'Occitaine's is really nice, but Le Labo's is more intense to me, sharper, very different.  The two are so different that it's really hard for me to compare.

You can get samples from Le Labo, their discovery set is definitely worth the money.

Santal 33 is unique. No other fragrance smells like it. Cucumberish, Creamy Sandalwood.
Gaiac 10 is good, but you have to like Gaiac. It quite light.  Grows on you.
Poivre 23  A peppery, a little incense semi sweet vanilla.
I wish I avoided their Oud 27.
