Hi All,

I have resisted the Shave Brush Acquisition Disease for a long time, happy with my Simpsons Duke 3 and a Travel Synthetic, but I felt like I wanted to try at least one more brush to understand what I might be missing out on.

A huge thanks to Claus, Celestino, SCOV, surfshaver, mike, DEdestroyer and everyone for the advice and encouragement... I finally settled on:

* Shavemac Germania Silvertip 2-Band Brush

Here it is, fresh from my mailbox, brand-new! Smile

After 1st Shave, it's starting to open up:

Hair Quality: Silvertip 2-Band
Knot size: 26 mm

Knot shape: Bulb
Hair length: 54 mm

Handle diameter: 40 mm

Handle height: 49 mm
Total height: 103 mm

Coming from a Simpsons Duke 3 Best Badger Brush (which I found "soft" and easy to use, not scritchy), the Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band was just another level!

I now am starting to slowly understand some differences in Badger Hair types. Wink The Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band had "Soft Tips," but it had *more* Backbone than my Simpsons Duke 3. As Claus said, in this case, the Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band felt luxurious on the tips. It had a wonderful massaging feel on the face, was just as "soft" as the Simpsons Duke 3, but even moreso.

And it had more backbone, but it wasn't uncomfortable or "super stiff."

I was able to lather even faster with the Shavemac Silvertip 2-Band, even though I'm just breaking it in. It holds lather like a champ, I was able to build lather quickly (doesn't hurt I'm using Martin De Candre Soap Wink ) which lathers instantly regardless Tongue but seriously, it was easier and faster than my Simpsons Duke 3 in Best.

The Handle Height and Diameter are taller and wider (slightly) than the Duke 3 and the brush overall is taller, but it works better for me personally. It's easier for me to Bowl Lather and even doing a bit of Face Lathering, I like the grip more in my hand. Smile

Claus, I see what you're saying... I have to keep trying new brushes to really start understanding what works for me.

Overall, I am really impressed with this Shavemac Germania Silvertip 2-Band Brush.

I look forward to Shaving even more now!

Thanks again everyone!

Beautiful brush!! I currently am using a Shavemac Do1 2 band extreme flat top, and Thater 2 band as well as a M&F on the way. The Thater definitely has the so the softest tips out of any brush I have tried, it has the so called gel tips and do fell amazing, though less backbone. I like a good scrub and message. Both the Shavemac 2 band and D01 2 band deliver and have a great presence on the face. Just wait until after you've got 10-12 shaves on it. It just keeps getting softer tips. It never acquires gel tips, but that's what I enjoy so much about it. I want to feel the brush on my face. And that ivory and the biar is just beautiful. Well done!

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

Nice looking brush.  Not that I need another because I don't.  Really, I don't.

Shavemac, eh?

Bernd makes the best brushes IMO, you can experience everything from gel tips to a natural brush to pure scrub without scritch across his range of Shavemacs. He is a delight to deal with and across my 30+ Shavemacs over the last 3 years I have lost 2 hairs. Congratulations on the new brush the handle looks ergonomic and beautiful. Bulb is also my preferred shape.
