With less than 10 models of AC razors to choose from, I'd think there would be a lot of talk about each one.

What's the deal?

Short answer is that it is old news, many are chasing the next new razor that's going to somehow revolutionize their shave.....

I haven't tried the Mongoose II because I'm very happy with how my original Mongoose shaves.  It, and my ATT SE1 are my two daily drivers - both great shavers!

Thanks David, I understand that, it is a good point.
But I would think some people have the both the II and a previous version, and there would be reviews/comparisons.

Also they always seem to be on back-order when you want to buy one. They always seemed to have a problem keeping them in stock. I don't know what their problem is with that.

It's true that you don't read about these often.

A couple years ago people would do "anything" to own a Mongoose, there was even a waitlist for the stainless model. The waitlist was open and you had to wait a few months before you finally order one. But this now belongs to the past, there are many SE models available from different makers and Mongoose is not a highly desirable razor anymore... This happens when you increase production on a previously difficult to acquire product. Most SE lovers, me included, have tried their razors. If it were still difficult, be sure the demand would be very high. It may not be always available at their retailers, but the demand is low anyway and their aftermarket value is not that good. It's probably on back-order, because it's like a second job for them, they're not in the business, like ATT for example.

They have been selling them via a couple of vendors for a while.
Right now one of the vendors, Maggard Razors, has 15 Mongoose II heads in stock, and 13 Handles in stock.

I absolutely LOVE my mongoose V2 stainless. I paired mine with the Maggard MR5 handle. I love this razor so much I sent it to Delta Echo for a little color. Couldn’t be more pleased with this razor. [Image: bc6f1a8b85625041a3a05cb03468c103.jpg]
