We have lost the legendary rocker at age 66.  Tom Petty was found at his home unconscious, not breathing, and in cardiac arrest.  He was taken off life support after tests showed no brain activity.  I had a chance to see him live last year and he was still great.  This is a huge and sad loss for the music community.

Now there's only 2 Wilburys left! Petty was special. He'll be missed by many.

I had the TP channel on Sirius earlier. There was no indication of the news. Thanks to the magic of prerecording, it was just Petty playing DJ.

RIP TP Sad

Really bummed to hear he passed.

He was younger than I realized.

I sat in the car when I got home and listened the song playing until the end. Great memories.

Wow, I had no idea until I came across this just now.
I listened to "You Got Lucky" earlier today on my iPhone.
Sad news!

Too soon to call it. Apparently it was reported erroneously. He's still in the hospital right now.

May his soul Rest in Peace. One of my favorites during my college days. Sad.

Another Florida boy. Saw Mr. Petty for last time in the early 90's. He won't back down.

“Damn the Torpedoes” came out when I was about 17. His music is part of my soul.

Sad news on top of a tragic weekend.

When I heard he had passed, all I could do was bury my head in my hands and shake my head.

Remember his '93 Greatest Hits album with the two bonus tracks "Last Dance With Mary Jane" and "Something in the Air"?

I played that CD and beat it up so much so often, I must've bought it 3 times before the MP3 players came out.

I hope he has an eternal mansion in the same neighborhood as Sid Barrett, Bonham, Hendrix, and all the great poets.
