So I saw a post on this or another board about this soap. I have some, had not touched it for probably over a year due to SSAD. What I was missing!!!

When I think of protective cushion and ease of lathering, this is IT! Forget MWF and it's fussiness.

Post face feel and protection is tops. I wish the scent wasn't so "soapy".

Does anyone know of a tallow soap, with or without lanolin, that performs as well as Haslinger Schafmilch with a better scent?

Yes - Haslinger Sandelholz Rasierseife!  Nice, moderate strength cologne-type scent, with crazy slickness, super-easy to lather as well.  I actually got PIF'd this and I swear its one of the better performing soaps in my Den!

Superb soap, IMO.
I recently opened a puck of the schafmilch soap.
I’ve been using it for the last week and all I can say is WOW.

Haslinger is an EXCELLENT soap, but there is a plethora of tallow-based soaps that are just as good, and even better, with much, much better scents, in my opinion.
Here are just a few: Mystic Water, L&L Grooming, Jabonman, Mike's, Cold River, Tallow & Steel, older AoS Sandalwood, etc..
Of course, YMMV.  Shy

No, according to the ingredients list I found on a few European sites.

Haslinger is a wonderful performing soap. Enjoy it! I like the small puck size. You can burn through one in roughly one month of daily use.

I'll check the ingredients. If it's tallow I may grab a puck of Sandalholtz.

Bernd threw in a pick of Sandelholz with my last order, looking forward to trying it out.

Haslinger is the unicorn of tallow soaps. One puck easily lasts a few months of regular shaving and the scents are wonderful. I always have a Haslinger Honig (Honey) in my rotation and have been through 4 pucks of honey alone. The price isn't ridiculous either. I have found the Schalfmilsch and honey to provide the best cushion, slickness goes to Schalfmilsch. The others are below these two IMO with regards to performance.

I also did an interesting experiment with the honey soap leaving the lather to sit for a week. It didn't collapse, regardless of being totally dehydrated.

Great performing soap, but the scent is not to my liking. Had to sell the two I had. It's so synthetic. I had put the refill in a TOBS cream tub. Cleaned it after selling it. I opened the bowl a few days ago to put another soap and that Haslinger scent was still there. I mean, I opened it after months and that synthetic scent was still there. I left it open and today I can still smell it. I probably have to throw away that TOBS tub.

I love Schafmilch and is in the upper league for me, with MWF, Tabac and DR Harris.
Artisan soaps are quite different from these four, mostly soft soaps, almost creams, which I dislike a lot when struggling while loading a brush. I can put it up with those croaps... :-D

Unwrapped and used the Sandelholz tonight, and was pleasantly surprised. Very good lather - easy to create a slick paste.

It is tallow, and Sandalwood is probably their strongest and my favorite scent. I do think that the Schafmilch has a better post-shave though. Meeresalgen (seaweed) is my second favorite scent, but it's one of the synthetic ones Thalasos alluded to.

Just finished a Schafmilch shave with 2 day growth, red tip, Kai blade (3). The post shave is unbelievable!!!

Without the lanolin, I'd fear Sandalholtz would be a disappointment.

I'd love to find another that offers a different scent, lanolin, Tallow, and a similar post shave feel. I've got tons of Stirling and Jeeves of Hudson St comes close.

We recently released Etherea - a soap in collaboration with Timeless Razor.  It's got goat's milk in place of sheep's milk, but it also has tallow, lanolin and lots of other good stuff.

Ingredients:

Saponified (with potassium and sodium hydroxides) oils/butters of tallow, kokum, avocado, cocoa, shea, stearic acid, coconut; glycerin, lanolin, coconut oil, goat milk, mallow extract, buckthorn extract, meadowfoam seed oil, vitamin E, fragrance.

The scent is citrus-cologne on top of amber.  There's also a matching splash.

It's available at Timeless.
