Just finished a shave with the new General and DAMN!! That joint is now in a 3 way tie with the Vector and Paradigm SE. I even think I may put it in a tie for smoothness with the Paradigm SE and the efficiency is right there with both of the others. Used a Feather Super and it was just amazing! It has the same nimbleness as the Vector and the same smoothness as the Paradigm. I use a Schick Proline in my Vector and the same Feather Super in my Paradigm. I even used the short stock handle that came with the General V.2 and kind of liked it. I will try a longer handle with my next shave but I really like the design of this new General. The shave is an extremely close BBS! This one is definitely a keeper and the old stainless General will be going up for sale. I’ll keep my Brass General until this new one is done in brass if that actually happens.

Can you please post a photo showing the head sizes of the Vector, Paradigm, V1 and V2 for comparison?

Best I could do because the Vector will not stand on its side like the others.

The new one has a much slimmer head and it is more nimble than the old one. I do have my original stainless General up for sale
on the BST now.

The V2 General has been my daily/every other day driver for the last few weeks and overall, it's hard to find a fault with it. The results are great, I like the tapered handle, the smaller header is just right, it glides very smoothly. It just kind of boringly works extremely well - no fuss.

I've tried it with Prolines (they're great) and now with Feather Super Pros and it seems that it really pair well with the Super Pros. It takes the "heat" off the blade and no worries about shaving too close or accidental nicks, great results. I am a big fan of the aluminum General but for me, there was still a little heat on the Super Pros.

I've enjoyed many vintage/modern SEs and the new V2 General is now right up there with other top razors. Between the V2, Vector and Paradigm - it seems like they are all "perfected" AC SEs - it just comes down to preference, budget and availability. It might be interesting to go back to older/other designs but they'll be compared against the V2 General.

I have used most of the SE razors that have been on the market and the SS and Brass General (V1) are the ones that I use. I like this razor for the blade feel, the blade angle, the shave is perfect for me, the only drawbacks are the bulky head and weight. So when the V2 came out I purchased it which was weeks ago and now having used it half dozen or so times (I use the Feather SuperPro). Before I give my evaluation of these 2 razors, here's how I evaluate all razors, blade feel, I need to feel the blade, smoothness, minimal irritation and shave, my BBS test is ATG on one side of my face that has the hairs growing in absurd directions. If a razor can accomplish the three issues I outlined then I don't care what the cost is I am sold on that razor.

V1 SS and Brass.
Cons, the head is too bulky, with to much weight, maneuverability is fair. Pros, Very nice blade feel, extremely smooth, excellent shaver.

V2
Pros, lighter with a smaller head which makes the razor more manageable than the V1, lighter in weight, very maneuverable. Cons, the shave is not quite as good as the V1.

So I put the V2 away and have continued to use the V1 in my rotation even with its faults. (I switch out the handles on both the V1 and V2

In conclusion, the shave is everything.

Interesting. I actually sold my V1 SS in favor of the shave of the new one. I still have my brass V1 though but I absolutely love the shave of the SS V2.

I am completely satisfied and actually surprised by the improvements that were delivered to us by the invention of the V2. I still enjoy my brass and my version 1, but I I'm very happy to use my V2 every day because of the excellent performance.
