Are the original DD DE blades ready to shave out of the wrapper or do they need to be stropped?

people strop blades if they think the blade is too sharp, otherwise no need for stropping

I bought my Durham-Duplex razor just for the handle.  It came with some NOS blades, which looked good, but weren't fit to shave with, because of microscopic rust.
I also tried using the carpet cutter blades which fit it.  No rust but not a good shave either.  I think the handle is great, but the razor head, in my opinion, is a throw-away.

I have found many are still good if well wrapped. A strop might help slightly in my experience and I usually just do that on some denim. I have also used the compatible blades from Try A Blade and those so far have been nice.
