I use
- GFT Skin Food: thick liquid
- Fitjar Islands Aftershave Moisturizer + Viking Aftershave Balm: creamy but easy to spread.

Myrsol Emulsión is my favorite shaving product on the planet, and I find its thickness just right, as one might imagine.

However, I still like thicker ones such as L'Occitane Cade, which is almost like cold cream.

I no longer use balms but when I do:

I prefer milk consistency (which is what I voted for) or Nivea's sensitive balm (comes in the glass white bottle)

I have oily skin and don't usually use a balm.  When I do, I prefer light to medium consistency.  The Simpson balm has the ideal consistency for me.

I like a thick balm, nearly lotion. AoS is my favorite, very soothing and a little goes a long way. L'Occitane is another great option. My least favorite for performance is DR Harris "milk" which is very thin and doesn't do a great job against razor burn - unless I'm not using enough and I'm already using about triple what I do from AoS.

VERY sensitive skin here

Ranked Best First:
ABC - but GOD expensive - kinda watery
Al's the thick balm - but the scents are hideous - thick almost noxema consistancy
Trumpers skin food any scent - kinda watery
Proraso Balm White or Blue - little thicker than ABC and GFT
Institute Karite Balm - but gets sticky after drying = little thicker than Proraso

The ABC Balm is best but terribly expensive

Whatever one would classify Blackship Grooming is my favorite.  Their splashes are also way up the ladder for me as well.

Yes know thin summer/thick winter is norm but skin revolts if even a slight deviation from using balm. Cursed here

Interesting thread: village barber, Simpsons unscented, and SdP are my top 3.

I would say that during warm weather I go for a thinner, runnier consistency. In the cold months I go for a thicker lotion type balm.
