SOLD!  PLEASE ARCHIVE.  Thanks All.

Never owned a Simpson brush before and finally made the plunge after hearing how good they are.  Bought 2, actually; a Chubby 1 and a Chubby 2.  I didn't know which size I'd prefer.  They both feel very nice but after using both for 5 or 6 shaves, I decided on the smaller Chubby 1.  Selling this lovely Chubby 2 in Best Badger for what I paid - $97 with CONUS shipping.  Note: I purchased this brush used from a very nice member who also used it sparingly.  So it's basically like new and shows no wear.  This brush deserves a good home.

The older made in England brushes were very good in my experience , some batches of hair back then the best was very close to the super.

Interesting. How can one tell when/where a particular brush is made?

The sticker if original and not a replacement says made in England , this was before production moved to Great Britain (vulfix) facility. The current stickers now say Made in Great Britain.

IIRC facility was in the same place—Isle of Mann, but Isle if Mann isn’t in England...it is in Great Britain. Hence why they decided to change the sticker.

I do agree though that these older “best” brushes labeled England feel like supers.

Yes, I have 3 Made in England Best knots; a CH1, CH3 and a 59. Of the three, the CH3 feels as soft as my CH2 Supers. The CH1, while very soft has a slight scrubbiness to it, likely the result of it's shorter loft. The 59 which isn't as dense as the Chubbies falls somewhere in between the two.

The sticker change happened in late 2013. So this brush was made pre-2014. I had one and it was definitely softer than my new one, which is still a very nice brush. To get one from that time that is in this kind of shape is a real stroke of luck. Whoever buys this will love it. GLWTS
