I'm not sure these are my end all "ideal" brush, but I'd sure be interested in a couple of configurations as follows:
  • Wiborg Anchor handle in butterscotch (old school butterscotch, meaning the type that evolves into butterscotch over time -- not sure what you call that???) or Somerset ivory with a M+F finest/blonde Fan knot, 26mm.
  • One of the walnut handles I made this year with a Paladin knot, 26 mm fan or hybrid.
  • L7 or PK47, black or grey ebonite, M+F or Paladin 26mm knot, hybrid.

I'd kind of like to see this.

Here are two quick photos of this handle and brush.  The first is on the bench before the handle was sent to Lee and the second is cropped out of a group photo before the completed brush was shipped.

From my perspective Lee's very limited supply of 3-band Silvertip, which he calls "Super Badger." is extremely close to the old Rooney Heritage hair.  I've asked him to fill another handle with it for my collection.

And not just pretty: it performs beautifully.  I did a side-by-side comparison of it with my Rooney Heritage 3-band Emillion and it is hard to discern any difference between the face feels...pure luxury.

A custom made Simpson Polo 10 handle in jade with a Thäter 2-band Silvertip bulb shaped knot in 28 mm size and 52 mm loft would be a brush I could live with for a long time.

I'd ask Simpsons to make me a 2 band Super CH2 knot in a CH3 size handle.

Love the CH2 knots but the handle is too small.

Been thinking about this for a while. I’ve had a custom guitar designed to my specs. It’s unique and there is not another one anywhere exactly like it. So, if I could make my ideal brush I’d work with an artisan to create something completely unique and special. It would be the only one of its kind in the world. That’s what I would do.

I have three Paladins at this time, a Sears/M&F, Shavemac D01, Thater 4125 two band, Elite Manchurian, Zenith Manchurian, Simpson Ch-2 best, Semogue SOC boar, a custom with a Virginia Sheng two band, and several synths. The 2CSLD Paladin is a knot that I can't imagine being any better.

That looks amazing. Makes you wonder why they wouldn't continue making these for a while.
