Here, there and everywhere.

If I see one I like and the price is reasonable, I buy it. Goes for much more than just bowls though Wink

A couple of our artisan makes colourful bowls, such as this one: http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=...#pid834142

No.  If you're looking for something on Etsy, you may find this long thread from earlier this year interesting.

I bought the one I use daily at the Henry Ford/Greenfield Village gift shop in Michigan: https://giftshop.thehenryford.org/handcr...ttery.html

Purchases support the museum, which is a really cool place.

I got it a couple years back when we visited the museum.  I don't see it on the site anymore, which is kind of a shame, as it's the perfect size and shape: squared-off, textured sides with a lather-assisting swirl at the bottom.  They do have some other bowls listed, but none quite as pretty or as perfectly suited to shaving.

Sometimes you have to think outside the box, I have one that probably wasn't intended as a lather/shave bowl..... but it fits my hand very nicely and has a apothecary style handle, although it is not textured on the inside,  it works great.  We found it at a thrift store for 50 cents.

I bought a shave bowl from Doug Smith on Etsy. Didn't break the bank, beautifully glazed, and outstanding attention to detail. Looks great though all my brushes larger than 24mm clank the sides of the bowl. I hate that. It was intended for use with creams and the recent uptick in soft cream soaps. It gets used, just not on a regular basis. If I was to do it over I would purchase his shave dish.

I don't know if you've bought a bowl yet, but I got a very nice hand made hand decorated scuttle from an artist on Etsy. I got mine as a set, scuttle and brush, but he has the scuttle available without the brush and also has a couple varieties of lather bowl and has many interesting patterns for decorating them.

Go to Etsy and search for PantaRei.

Hope this helps.

Well I'm not sure the image made it, if not I got the Van Gogh "Starry Night". Also forgot to mention he is in Palermo.
