What can we do if we have a Gillette ball end handle, that usually crack through the center tube? Something like that:

This was the center of the handle that I found

My idea has been to buy a carbon fiber tube (8mm inside, 10mm outside) that go for less than € 3.5 with shipping included

And then, using a file to reduce a bit the diameter of the ends (8.5mm), this is the result. A new carbon fiber ball end handle

What do you think about this modification?

Not bad. I did something similar with heat shrink tubing, but it doesn’t look nearly as nice.

EDIT: I didn’t realize you replaced the tube. I thought you somehow put a carbon fiber covering around the existing tube. Very cool!

This is an incredible idea.  This would give life to all of those razors out there with cracked tubes.

The razor looks really nice!

I think the grip is good, not like with some kind of knurling but it will not fall from your hands.
