So, I have seen this term, but don't know what it is.  What is Shavemac 2-band UNIQUE Hair?  Is it an old term for the plain (not d0 whatever) 2-band hair or something else?  It is not listed on the Shavemac customer brush configurator, only 2-band and d0's, nothing that says UNIQUE 2-band.  What gives?

It refers to a unique hair density, which is in-between 2-band and d-01 if my memory serves.

As far as I'm aware it's only available via custom order. I got it in my most recent brush and I think it's a denser version of the two band silvertip knot.

Bernd's reply to me a few months ago:

"unique knots are of such kind the we use longer knots and set them deeper into the handle.

This make the knots denser.
If you wish to order this type please make a note into the comment field of the order form."

It isn't actually different actual density, something about setting them deeper just creates a similar effect, I guess.

This thread describes what I believe is the origination of the Shavemac unique knot, and it specifically calls out changes to density. http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=44526
Maybe Bernd has changed his approach in the meantime ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had a very similar response from Bernd. He also said that it is more similar to a normal 2 band than the DO1 2 band.

I do not have the normal 2 band but I have a 2 band unique bulb Shavemac.

All I know is that it is a fantastic knot! Soft Tips with a soft face feel yet great backbone for face lathering.

Now I know I have "unique" shavemac, tgn, and romera manchurian. Now looking into a "unique" omega. It has worked well for me.
