And so, in the fullness of time, we become as our grandfather's.
But seriously I agree with all that's been said.

Why is it so difficult to .....

  • Look behind you when opening a door to see if someone else is near so you can hold the door open for them
  • Put a grocery cart back in the cart corral so it don't blow all over the parking lot
  • Wear a belt and keep your pants up so your arse crack ain't showing
  • Throw away your trash after a movie at the movie theatre
  • Wrap a gift rather than just throw it in a bag
  • Put your cell phone down when eating
  • Take clothes out of the dryer when they are done

YES! to all of the above.
I take exception to the gift bag.  that is progress.

Why is it so difficult for local news stations to:

...just spend the 15 seconds it takes to actually tell us a story rather than spend 5 - 10 times that amount of time teasing us with it 3, 4, 5 times first?

(Answer when we return...)

...realize that the people who are watching all of the ads promoting your station (between story teasers) are in fact... already watching your station?

(Go figure...)

Congratulate them for at least recognizing 10 is a number.

...that's all their teachers did.  Wink

English isn’t my first language, and this is something I definitely didn’t know.

This might explain the ‘grumpy old man’ looks I sometimes get after holding the door for a minute for an elderly person who comes for the doctors chamber next to my office.

Why is it so hard [for some people] to .....

Refrain from purchasing lottery tickets and scratch-offs when they are on food stamps and other public financial assistance?

I saw one person the other day buy Tastykake powdered donuts, red bull and a small coffee on an ebt card ... cigarettes on their own debit card .... they actually said, "I need a damn job" and then proceeded to buy 5 scratch-off lottery tickets in cash ....

I just shook my head!   A6

...because when you are down on your luck, having to pick food based on the most calories for the dollar etc; the hope to "win the big one" is one of the things that keep you going? It's an ersatz hope for them and while those of us who are more fortunate see the folly of their actions, for them the cigarettes and a lottery ticket may be enough of a reason to keep at it one more day.

Just saying Wink
