First shave with this base today and I’m blown away. My lathering skills have always been subpar in my opinion but this stuff blew me away.

Indeed. Reserve is an excellent soap base.

I really like the formula too.
My two faves are Spice and Cool, but they're all pretty nice scents.
I think the Classic irritates my skin unfortunately, but I do really enjoy the scent.

I have also had excellent experience with this soap base. The slickness is more than adequate, but the post-shave is really good. The scent on Cool is very well done.

Just got Fern and Lavender in the mail — they’re both great. They started selling the matching aftershaves for both these scents a little while ago, FYI, if you head over to their site. The new aftershave bottles are nifty, too. They’ve got patent diagrams on them. Not sure why they’re not shaving related, but whatever...

Classic (razor) and cool (barber chair) are razor related designs. The others (automobile, chalice) deviate.

Ah, ok.

Didn’t realize their others had more shaving related diagrams. Last time I ordered from them their splashes were in the square bottles with the black tops (I think I probably like those a little better actually).

OMG! Should I head over to their site now or can it wait until after breakfast?

Yes, Reserve is another wonderful B&M soap. I’d like to see it available in Diamond and Oceana scents. They’re my favorites from Will.

It's not Bufflehead, so you can probably wait days.
B&M makes more than ten units for sale.

I too love Oceana and wish it was expanded to the other bases.

Never had experience with either. Most of the scents are pretty awesome and nontraditional.

Lavanille is really growing on me. At first I thought it was really strange, but lately I’ve been debating buying the soap and aftershave. It’s such a unique scent. I had a sample of the aftershave and I keep going back to it just to remember what it smells like. ha.

Well I have managed to get all the Reserve scents except the Lavender or whatever it’s called. The wife ordered me the Classic and Spice scents as an early gift for the Holidays as she loves to shop on Amazon ?. I must say that neither of these two scents appeal to me. I’m sure have some appeal to others, but a musk smell is not for me. It’s a shame because I do enjoy the Fern (the most) and the Cool. Hopefully soon, Will introduces some new scents to the line. If not I’ll stockpile on Fern to keep me happy.

Fern, Cool, and Lavender are my favorite Reserves. I think you would probably like the lavender if you like Fern. The site is selling samples of lavender I think.

Anyone have any experience with Lavanille (i know its not the reserve base but I figured I’d ask) and whether it would stain muhle silvertip fiber brushes?

Silvertip Badger, Boar, Synthetics all used dozens of times each with NO staining. Its just brown from oxidation of the vanillan. The only B&M soap that might reportedly stain is Night Music.

To bad Will from B&M was banned from The Shave Nook for shilling!

I would prefer to hear directly from him as I've seen conflicting reports. Some say Lavinille does stain, others don't. I do know for a fact the Night Music stained my Shavemac 2 band. The staining has mellowed but it is now for sure a dirty grey where before the tips were snow white.

Will put the warning on all his soaps that use a certain level of vanillin, but it has been correctly stated that the main issue is Night Music for staining.  I enjoy Lavanille, and can report that the Glissant batches, although much darker and more oxidized, have not stained my Muhle STF, nor any of the boars I have over a dozen uses or so each.
