Start off the year with a Bang

A  NOS Kobar seven day of the week set. Was told by the seller, her father purchased in Germany after WWII but never used. He passed in 1998 and she sat on them until now. She wanted someone to appreciate them as much as herself. All the blades are clean, no rust and gold wash is all intact. All the scales are clean, no cracks, chips or warps with tight pins. A beautiful set with zero mileage. I will do my best to be a good caretaker.

A find today at a antique store. A 1930 New Big Boy Chromium De Luxe. As a added bonus the blade bank contained original 1930 Deluxe blades. The razor is in low milage condition,  Very clean, no plate loss and the knurling is sharp.

Wow!

I'm surprised that case interior is in such radical condition compared to the blades. Those blades are super scarce! Not that the razor is all that common itself.

Congrats!

Thanks. It thought it was just a nice find. Researching the blades that I never saw before, my google-fu told me how rare and uncommon they are. One of Gillette's first major failures

2018 begins. The brush is the first acquisition of the young year. A raffle win, it was made by an artisan handle maker who I don't think is around any longer. I can't speak on the performance yet, but the handle is made from an exquisite resin. When I first saw it I thought it might be a Montalvo because the resin could really compare to Wolf Whiskers resins. Subsequent scores came in from one of the fine online vendors: Barrister's Reserve Cool, 100 Nacets, and some Cremo moisturizer.

Thank you gentlemen.  I've always been a fan of  the wood and acrylic look.
