For 2018 I'm hoping I can successfully leave adequate hints to my wife to get a very nice straight edge razor for my birthday in August...
... not easy, because she already looks at me like I am crazy with this shaving hobby  :-)

already at 25. So I think I will reach 100 this year.

I think now I am at the point where I can finish a SR shave with 3/4 additional minutes (compared to DE). And stropping takes about ~2 minutes.

I spend way too much time lurking in the forums to consider SR shaving time consuming Smile.

Well, it’s almost the end of January and I’ve been shaving every other day. It’s great to give my face a break, but I do miss shaving more often at times. I might do 2 days on, 1 day off.

For the month of February - I’ll be shaving using a single brand of soap, but I’ll allow myself to use different scents/formulas. CRSW February it is!

Take the wet/dry Norelco for a wet shave, naked in the hot tub, with the temp at 20F and light snow.  There will be no pictures. Smile

I’m going to try a month (January) of every-other-day shaves. For no other reason than just to see if I get more enjoyable results.

I used to shave every-other-day, and really loved it. I noticed that I could definitely get a closer shave with just one pass. Then, I realized that I have enough shave soaps to last about 5 years, so I decided to start shaving every day. Now that I've started shaving every day, I don't think I could go back to every-other-day because I just enjoy shaving so much!

Finally figured it out. After many years of soap-only shaving, I’m going to try my first deluxe cream(s?).

In a SE or a kamisori/western-straight holder?

For me, 2018 has been the year of straights.  I picked up a Feather Artist Club folding and kamisori, as well as a Gold Dollar 800.  Thus far, I like the Feather AC kamisori the best.  The Gold Dollar is cool but its kind of a hassle.
Thus far, Im loving straight razor shaving and dont see myself going back to a DE.

after over a 3 year run of building an exorbitant collection of almost ever possible vintage Gillette and then selling them all off but 5....I am back to giving the current manufacturers a go.

After a year long sabbatical from RAD and completing the sell off mentioned above, I have let RAD creep back into my life since mid January and got the following to try in 2018:

Oneblade v1 and v2 ....I have to see if it is really worth the fuss and perhaps the mild razor of my dreams.

-General SE Aluminum & Stainless
-RR Mamba Stainless
-RR BBS Titanium
-Feather AS-D2
-WCS/Charcoal L1
-Gem Push Button
-Gem G Bar

As I prefer mild razors under 120g(preferably under 100), the only razor one pending is the Blackland Sabre L1.
