I came back to traditional shaving over 6 years ago. I tried all kinds of products but one popular product I never tried is Proraso. Mostly because I prefer a soap puck to a cream and in the pass I always chose TOBS if I wanted to try a cream.

I read on one of the forums where someone was talking about Proraso Blue. Several people chimed in saying what a great scent it had. Well it finally got the best of me and I ordered a tube of Proraso Blue. I should have it in today. I'm not sure what to expect but I can't wait to try it.
I'll report back tonight after I use it.

You'll also want to try the original Proraso Green, and the Sandalwood Proraso Red.  The Proraso line is a classic.

I probably will try them. This is what I bought this time.

I just have to chime in for Proraso White...I always keep it in rotation and love it. Mild scent, a touch of menthol, great lather and price. I enjoy the classic Green, but it is not SWMBO's favourite so I usually travel with the green. I find proraso a good brand. There are better and worse, but it never lets me down.

I just got done using it and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I didn't know it had menthol in it. I'm not a big menthol fan.

If you don't like menthol, you won't like Proraso Green.  Consider Proraso Red, which is sandalwood.

The green is refreshing during the summer months. I find the scent of P-Red to be intoxicating. It was a couple of years before I found other scents I like more than P-Red. The soap doesn’t last long - maybe I load too heavily. In four years I’ve gone through three tubs of the red and just started my fourth not long ago. The cream in the tube is so easy to use. Claus has often raved about “super lathers.” I find the P-Red cream really excels when used in that fashion. In terms of performance, cream vs. soap, I find the cream to be more protective than the soap. A good product line, for sure.

I want to try that cream, but it seems to be only available in the large 9.5 oz container.

I have not tried regular Proraso so i can't make a comparison, i received this as a PIF from a generous member a few months ago. I can say it is a great performer in all aspects, some may find the scent a bit strong for their tastes but i like it

I am not a fan of menthol as well.  I think all of Proraso soap with the exception of Red has menthol in the formula.  It always best to read the ingredients before purchasing.

You wouldn't want to judge the quality of an automobile by its color.

It may be a great soap but if I don't like the menthol in it then it's no good to me.

Right, so now you're stuck with a tube that you don't like.  That's a bummer, and I'm sorry.  I was just wondering if the problem isn't Proraso shaving cream but the color you selected.

Oh I'm sure it's the color I chose. If I had the Red I probably would have liked it. That's okay, I gave it to my neighbor who I just got into traditional shaving about a month ago.
