For those of you who have used both of these razors, would you please compare and contrast them? In particular, if I am moving from long time use of the EJ DE89, will I find the RR to more or less smooth, more or less aggressive, etc.

Thanks!

Mamba is similar in smoothness, less aggressive, less efficient than EJ DE89. The only better thing about Mamba is material. I like my Mamba, but DE89 is, IMO, a better razor.

While I am not answering your question specifically, what is the motivation for the Mamba?

Opting for something more aggressive, you could consider RR MJ90 with A plate. Better material (especially Ti Handle), price than EJ89. Also the yet to release RR Game changer would be an upgrade.

The initial motivation is my  preference for  the looks and handle choices of the Mamba as compared to the MJ 90. However, if the mamba would not be a performance upgrade from the EJ89, then I guess I need to keep looking.  Thanks
