As I do more investigation ahead of my trip, I came upon this other outfit based in County Meath, the Handmade Soap Company.
The same fellow who kindly gave me the opportunity to try two of the Natural Ireland soaps had nice things to say about the Handmade offering too, with one caveat: that the lather was airy.
Based on input from that pass-around (on another forum), the company is apparently adjusting the formula.
I think I will drop them a line too. More to come.

Still waiting to hear more about what may be happening with this soap. I saw it while on vacation but did not pull the trigger.
I did, however, buy their aftershave cream (I'll post separately about it).

Rory,

Thank you for the report.  I will be cruising to Ireland shortly and am looking forward to what I can find.

John, as you may have seen, I like the Natural Ireland line. It's not in stores, but I got an order delivered to my hotel while there.
