It is different from the pre-shave creams. Mr. Glo is a glycerin based soap and I find it does a great job of preparing my beard for a shave. If you have noticed my SOTD postings, Mr. Glo is the one item that is always included. I also use the Gylce Lime soap as a facial cleaner before bed. Great stuff!

John...you should share your recipe for your pre-shave oil. Perhaps start a new thread in this section. bn

What is the correct way to use it? Do you lather it on your face and then leave the soap on or do you wash it off and then put the lather on. I'm just wondering because I had seen people leaving it on, on YouTube. And I began using it like that and when I put lather on top of it by the second pass it starts to burn a little. Anyone know if this will change if I was it off before? I really don't want to stop using it because it works great.

You definitely want to wash it off. The soap is for prepping your face only and is used as a cleanser. After a good rinse, then you can use your normal prep for shaving. I used it as a face wash whether I was shaving or not.

Got to put it on my list!
Please, after you try it, tell me if you find any difference between the Ach. Brito Glyce Lime and MRGLO (besides the first cost 1/5).

They are in fact similar. I could try them one right after the other, but i just thought of that right now while writing (a later review perhaps!). But Mike from LeisureGuy has written an interesting post about that and apparently many have followed it's advice. They are made by the same producer anyway, just different product lines.
Anyway, i do have both products ingredient lists here, if anyone cares to check them - This may however mean nothing, as they may use better quality ingredients on the MR one - this i simply don't know
MR Glyce - http://www.theportugalonlineshop.com/cla...real-glyce
Ach Brito Glyce - http://www.theportugalonlineshop.com/ach...-bath-soap
They're both great pre-soaps, that's a fact!

Yes Dave, that one is MRGLO.
But besides that one, Ach. Brito also produces a regular Glyce Lime Oil, that costs about 1/5 th.

I got a sample of MRGLO, and it worked nicely for softening my beard before shaving. I wasn't crazy about their interpretation of the lime scent, though.
However, I find that Dr. Bronner's Magic Castille Soap works just as well, and for 1/2 to 1/3 the cost, depending on the price of MRGLO at the time.
