At aliexpress, you can find nice mugs in plastic/resin. Look for "Shave Bowl Mug plastic" at aliexpress, for example.

This isn't meant to sound like smart-ass, but why don't just look at the brush? You can hold that as close to your eyes if not closer than a bowl to see how your lather is coming along.

I have a stainless bowl that I'll use on a rare occasion, but it isn't like the ones shown or discussed here. Mine is more akin to a scuttle. It is triple layered and is filled with a gel that is for maintaining temperatures, but typically used for dishes meant to be served cold. It's rather large and cumbersome, so best left sitting on the counter like a scuttle, rather than holding like most bowls or mugs.

Just following up with this photo of the plastic mug.

I went ahead and ordered a hard rubber Marvy mug. I'll see how it goes. Only thing is, like as was previously pointed out, the diameter may be a bit restricted, but we will have to wait and see.

Unbreakable.   Multi Use.  Will take extremely large brushes.

I use empty shaving cream containers on the road.  I use a used TOBS tub, but I'm sure there are others.  Decent size, light weight, screw-on lid to hold other stuff in transit, and free.

The green rubber Marvy mug is terrific. Indestructible. How are you liking it?

I have a copper bowl from the razor manufacturer in Turkey. Cost me 10 with shipping. I float it and whip the lather up in it with the bottom of the cup submerged. Great warm lather, unbreakable and cheap.

I use this for Williams and it's a terrific mug. On another note there is also the Phoneix indestructable scuttle but then it's a shave scuttle !
