Excited about this new arrival. Another excellent knot from Thäter in the outstanding shavemac (I suppose) 82 handle.

Super soft tips with appropriate loft!

First face lather reveals soft tips and excellent flow through. Thäter knots are amongst the best in the industry. Now there is also a great handle choice with the barber style 82 which I presume is sourced from shavemac.

That is a beautiful brush @German. I do like that handle shape, I also thought it must be Shavemac. Is there any Thäter marking on the brush? Maybe underneath?

Great brush Georg.  The knot dimensions of 27/51mm are ideal for a fan.

Thanks. Yes, there is the Thäter plaque on the bottom.

No scritch. Thäter 2 Band has been consistently very soft tipped over the years I own them (going back to 2012 batches).

How does the Thater 2-band knot compare with the shavemac 2-band knot? I have a Thater 2-band fan-shape and am thinking of ordering a shavemac 2-band fan-shape with an 82 handle. If they have near identical face feels in terms of softness, backbone and density there would seem to be no point. I’ve had a shavemac 2-band, but in a bulb shape, and found the knot to be too unyielding for me, so I’m thinking that a fan-shaped knot would have a feel to my liking.

I'd say the shavemac silvertip 2 band is a bit more dense and has a bit more backbone. Given your preferences, I'd think you would like a Thäter fan.
