Funny how a scent or song can bring up memories from the far, far past. This soap is one. It gives me a warm fuzzy, happy feeling and a sadness too. It reminds me of a smell as my Grandmother ironed clothes.
Back in those days all clothes were starched and ironed.....the room would be filled with a scent of clean, starched and ironed shirts and my Grandmothers frocks (dresses), at least as I remember them. The "warm fuzzy" feeling is there. The sadness because those times are all so far in the past. Was it the soap or the starch, a combination of the two? I don't know, all I know is this soap reminds me of that time. It doesn't matter to me that this is a truly fantastic shaving soap, great lather, slick with a great after shave feel. No, it's a memory. That's the important thing. Will I stock up on this? No, just the one tub. Can't live in the past.

I never heard of this one, but a look for it online has it priced in the triple-digit range on Amazon.  Yikes!  Not a soap you want to use up too quickly.

It’s not cheap but not expensive either.
I paid $35-40 for mine in 2015 at the Saponificio Varesino Italian shop.
Not close to triple digits.

I'm just going by what I saw listed on Amazon.  Other sites have been far more reasonable with prices in the thirty-dollar range.

Keep in mind that SV Soaps are triple milled, and last a long time - even when loaded very heavily.
As an aside: I really like SV 70th and the matching aftershave is wonderful.

Love the SV 70th. Their best scent still to this day.

I have soap and aftershave and it’s been sitting new and unused for over a year...Maybe it’s time I open a new soap
