The scented XPEC is called "Original" no matter what version you have (new or old... they both say "Original" on the packaging)
The name of the scent is "Original" (as in, "wow that's an original scent, nothing quite like it")

Like in Polo Sport, "Polo" is the brand and "Sport" is the exact fragrance line.

... XPEC is the brand and Original is the name of the scent. (they have other scents too... But let's not confuse things...)

My work is done for the day.

To make it even more confusing, there’s the original Original ..made by Forrester-Milano in Italy.

Then the subsequent non-Forrester Original, the latest version.

Perhaps the latest version should be named “Not so Original”

I have only smelled the Forrester version, which is growing on me. A unique take on a peppery citrus. Smells better than it sounds.

I'd say 3/4 of people have this confused.

A lot of notes.

Rose, ginger, cedar, thyme, oakmoss, pepper, lemon, and some others I suppose but these are the ones I get.

Well, they're supposed to be the same scent... and they're close, but in reality the reformulation (Effe Marinelli) is not exactly the same as the prior (Forester)... but it was the goal.
Hence they both are called Original.

XPEC Original (Forrester Milano) was created by British perfumer Shirley Brody. Here are her comments on XPEC Original...

I get a tuberose, cedar, lemon, thyme and oak moss with a real dark rose in the background. A really dark complicated scent. Not for the average Joe. And l, as a fragrance head, can understand why.

I have the ASB and oddly enough love the scent.  It grew on me LOL.  I am looking for a bottle of the EdC but can't locate any US vendors who have it in stock.  I can definitely see that it is not for everyone.  Some describe it as "old man" or "funereal" are common descriptions...  But for some reason I like it.

I like its fragrance, too, at least in the Forrester Milano version of the cream.  I haven't tried the reformulation.

Thank you for posting this.. I always wondered who on earth came up with this scent! IMO it's absolutely genius! I am not a frag head or know anything about perfumes.. however XPEC original is a VERY unique scent, it's complex, elegant, Mediterranean... it's magical. I could never see how would someone come up with such an amazing combo.. LOVE IT
